How to determine the correct size

To obtain maximum benefits from the stocking the leg must be correctly measured: for this purpose, specialist assistance is recommended.  The measurements should be taken preferably in the morning when the legs are less swollen.

MEASUREMENTS TO BE TAKEN:

• Circumference of the ankle (cB) at the narrowest point.  This is the point of maximum pressure
• Circumference of the leg
  • cG – the circumference at the point just below the groin
  • cF – the circumference at the point halfway between the groin and the knee
  • cD – the circumference at the point just below the knee
• The length must be measured from the base of the foot (a)
  • lG – for tights and stockings up to just below the groin
  • lF – for thigh-high stockings
  • lD – for knee length stockings

The weight/height ratio table can be used to select the right size for links that are not particularly oedematous.

For swollen limbs always refer to the circumferential measures described above.
